Quintay, Chile

Quintay is a small fishing village located about 47 km (29 mi) to the south of Valparaíso, Chile.

From the village center, small lanes wind down to the

caleta, or creek, where there’s a fishing harbor with its seafood restaurants. Here you can see the fishermen unload their catch amidst over sea birds and sea otters. Also on the harbor are diving schools that provide scuba diving as well as kayaking excursions.

Quintay has two main beaches. Playa Chica is a picturesque beach about 10 minutes from the central plaza on foot. Its coast is bordered by high cliffs pounded by the surf. The other beach in the village is Playa Grande, which has a stretch of golden sands, and some condominium developments.
